Phil Shawe is the co-founder of one of the world's leading B-to-B providers of language and business services, TransPerfect Global, and the President and CEO of Translations.com. From 1992 until 1999, Shawe co-managed the day-to-day operations of TransPerfect with his business partner, Elizabeth Elting, to help orchestrate the company's growth from a single office start-up to an industry leader operating from offices in over 90 cities on five continents. Prior to founding TransPerfect, Shawe was a Financial Analyst at Chemical Bank and a Global Custody Consultant at Merrill Lynch. Shawe holds a MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business and a BS from the University of Florida, where he triple majored in Finance, Marketing, and Risk Management.
Elizabeth Elting, co-founder of TransPerfect Global, is also President and CEO of TransPerfect, one of the world's leading providers of document translation, which she co-founded with Phil Shawe in 1992. Elting manages TransPerfect's day-to-day operations and helped orchestrate its growth from a single office start-up to an industry leader operating from offices in over 90 cities on five continents. Elting has been cited in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Crain's New York Business as a pioneer in addressing the growing demand for professional, high quality translation services. Elting received a MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University's Stern School of Business and a BA in Modern Languages and Literatures from Trinity College.
Chief Technology Officer
Prior to joining TransPerfect in 2003, Mark Hagerty was the Director of Software Development at eTranslate, directing the development of the industry-leading GMS technology that was eventually acquired by Translations.com. Prior to that, Hagerty worked for eight years as a senior software engineer and manager at Adobe Systems, Inc. Hagerty was in charge of merging the internal customer databases and customer support systems when Adobe acquired Aldus in 1994. He was also one of the developers of the Adobe Type-On-Call product and a key member of the teams that implemented Peoplesoft and SAP internally. Hagerty has 20 years of software development experience and is responsible for the technology vision and solutions that make TransPerfect an industry leader. Hagerty holds a BS in Mathematics and Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
Tankut Eker's responsibilities include new client acquisition, brand building, developing marketing strategies and liaising with the internal development teams on identifying new technologies. Before joining TransPerfect, Tankut's last responsibility was within the Alternative Investment Group of Citibank where he participated on the coordination of fundraising and investment efforts of alternative products ranging from Hedge Funds and Managed Futures to Private Equity and Venture Capital. Tankut started his career at the Private Equity arm of the Koc Group, one of the largest industrial conglomerates in Europe. His first responsibility was to join the group's Asia Pacific team and participate in direct investments into Chinese manufacturing companies. Tankut earned his bachelor's degree at Babson College in Wellesley and is bilingual in English & Turkish.
Tom Lallis joined TransPerfect Interactive in early 2008 and was the Director of Client Services for TransPerfect Interactive from 2009 until his promotion to Product Manager in 2014. As the head of the client services division, Lallis was responsible for overseeing a global network of support centers and support representatives that provide 24/7/365 technical support for the TransPerfect Interactive application. As Product Manager, Lallis will lead all setup and implementation efforts for large scale clients/strategic alliances for TransPerfect Interactive. Lallis holds a BA in Psychology and Computer Applications from the University of Notre Dame.
